ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

Ready to expand your diving skills and unlock new underwater adventures? The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed to build your confidence, improve your diving abilities, and introduce you to exciting new types of diving—all while exploring incredible dive sites under the guidance of a PADI Professional.

Unlike your Open Water course, there is no final exam. You'll learn through experience by completing five Adventure Dives, allowing you to gain valuable real-world skills while having fun underwater. The course qualifies certified divers to dive to a maximum recommended depth of 100 feet (30 meters), opening the door to deeper reefs, wrecks, walls, and many of the world's premier dive destinations.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Prerequisites

Students must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, or hold a qualifying entry-level certification from another recognized training agency.

  • Be at least 12 years old for Junior Advanced Open Water certification or 15 years old for the full Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

  • Complete the PADI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire.

  • Obtain physician approval if required by the medical questionnaire.

Course Goals & Schedule

This course will be 5 adventure dives over 2 days. Prepare for 8 hour+ days depending on your comfort level in the water.  We will be required to complete 1 deep dive (dive site TBD during class) and 1 navigation dive.

 

To earn certification, students must:

  • Complete all academic requirements.

  • Pass the final knowledge assessment.

  • Successfully demonstrate all required confined water skills.

  • Successfully complete all four open water dives.

  • Demonstrate safe diving habits, buoyancy control, and proper buddy procedures.

  • Meet all performance requirements established by the certifying agency.
